Less is More
Showcasing the beauty in simplicity

Overview
Less is More is a festival of minimalism. The phrase, popularised by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, suggested that clarity and restraint produce greater beauty than ornament and excess. This idea was pivotal for art and design, as it provided the foundation and justification for a minimalist movement. Minimalist principles became the foundation for the festival's identity, through a geometric design system that follows order in a way that provides flexibility.
Insight
Minimalist art and design focuses on stripping a composition down to the essentials, in order to prioritise functionality and clarity. Minimalism is recognised for its simple geometry, active space, and clean typography.
